Apartment doors.

I like the light and the perspective in this shot. I wanted there to be something interesting just to the left that I could have included in the shot, but it was just a bright, blank, cloudy sky (which would have been way overexposed) and more dull apartment buildings in the distance.

Comedy and tragedy masks.

A pair of masks on a backstage prop table before appearing in a visually stunning production of Romeo and Juliette by the Tchaikovsky Ballet and Orchestra, from Perm, Russia.

Lamp base.

This is the base of a halogen desk lamp, with a pair of counterweights that pivot to balance the weight of the arm. The design has always intrigued me - I like the clean look and the mechanical action. The photo was a quick experimental effort. With more time and attention I think I could make a more interesting shot. Though this composition doesn't thrill me, I do like the odd juxtaposition of static and active.

Tax time.

Something appropriate for today. Before you ask, I wasn't still doing my taxes today. I don't like to leave things for the last minute. I mailed them yesterday...

Thanks to Matt for letting me borrow his famed 100mm macro lens.

Self-portrait in front of window.

I haven't done a lot of self-portraits, and for some reason I had an urge to today. It really needs a little space between the top of my head and the edge of the frame. Aside from that, I like this shot. I was feeling kind of moody, and I think that came out well.

Lineset twenty-four, third electric.

This is what I do at work. It's a shot of the flyrail in the theater, from which everything that hangs over the stage is flown in and out. Every red brake handle secures a lineset that flies a pipe over the stage, carrying lighting equipment, scenery, or anything else that needs to be hung. There are 51 linesets in the space, and with up to five different shows requiring different configurations of lighting and soft goods in the course of a busy week, it gets to be a challenge to keep track of what has move where for which day.

Self portrait with backlight.

I guess I had self portraits on my mind after commenting on Hillary's shot this morning. Apparently I only have one mood for self portraits though...

Brewpub entrance.

I took this shot of my friends as we were walking out of the trendy local brewpub. It was pretty rushed, so the quality isn't superb, but I like the light and perspective.

Flowering tree.

I'm not sure what kind of tree this is, but there are several right outside my apartment. I shot this from my balcony.
